Prior to embarking on running, it's worth pondering the selection of an alternative physical activity form that will prepare the body for more intense exertions. Pedestrian tourism and Nordic walking are a fantastic option for this purpose. But who should actually implement them, when and how?
Progressive escalation of exertion intensity
One of the fundamental principles of healthy training is the progressive escalation of exertion intensity, i.e. the gradual increase in the difficulty of exercises. This should be taken into account especially in the case of people with low physical fitness, long breaks in sports or overweight / obesity, as well as older people. In such cases, it is not recommended to start intense training, such as running, right away. A better solution is to perform simple fitness tests that will allow you to determine the initial level of intensity of effort and choose the appropriate form of physical activity - march or run - according to the body's capabilities. It is worth remembering that less is better than more.
