The critical factor, however, remains internal motivation to initiate change—recognizing the deleterious effects of chronic tension on physiological systems can serve as a catalyst for deliberate, purposeful actions aimed at its systematic reduction and the restoration of psychophysical equilibrium.
Stress
Stress is a set of different hormonal reactions that lead to the disruption of homeostasis of many systems in the body. However, cortisol, adrenaline, and noradrenaline, but also to some extent vasopressin, thyroxine, glucagon, and endorphins, are the main sources of stress. They work together to create inflammatory habitats and cause many harmful reactions, but they also commonly prepare the body to... fight or flight. Cortisol is responsible for the action of the heart and its changes, i.e. heartbeat, but it can also affect the blood pressure and its blood pressure.
