Basil medicinal product, varieties and uses

Basil (Ocimum basilicu) is a plant known throughout the world. Its flavor and aroma are most often associated with aromatic Italian cuisine. It is ideal as an additive to sauces, pizzas, pastes or other Mediterranean cuisine specialties. It has a characteristic sweet-sour flavor that gives food a unique aroma. Few of us know, however, that besides its unquestioned organoleptic properties, basil has a whole range of medicinal properties.
