What is green barley juice?

Green barley juice is a popular cereal variety belonging to the family of herbaceous plants. There are about 25 different varieties of barley in the world. The green color of the barley juice indicates that the plant is still young. Preparations containing green barley juice are mainly available in powder form. The powder should be mixed with water or juice (fruit/vegetable) and taken in liquid form as a dietary supplement. The resulting beverage should have a dark green color and a high degree of cloudiness.

Operation of young green barley grass

Young green barley grass is a treasure trove of health-promoting substances. It contains B vitamins and antioxidant compounds responsible for cleaning the body of harmful free radicals. The high amount of ascorbic acid, or vitamin C, is particularly noteworthy. The amount of this compound in young barley grass is significantly higher than in citrus fruits. Young barley grass also contains vitamin E and beta-carotene, which contribute to its antioxidant properties. In addition, young barley grass contains many valuable minerals such as zinc, magnesium, potassium, calcium, and iron. Young barley grass also contains all exogenous amino acids that the body cannot produce itself. The stems of barley grass contain a large amount of natural hormones and chlorophyll, which regulate the acid-base balance of the body.

The utilization of green barley in medicine

Green barley and dietary supplements based on this product find application in diverse medical domains. The diseases in which green barley is most frequently employed are: - cancers, - digestive difficulties, - excessive acidity in the body, - inflammatory and viral ailments, - skin conditions such as acne or ulcers, - joint and abdominal pains.

Weight diminution with barley assistance

Green barley is frequently promoted as an effective aid in weight reduction. What does this imply? First and foremost, the previously mentioned antioxidants that prepare the body for battling excess body weight. Additionally, it is worth mentioning chlorophyll, which restores the proper pH level. The soluble cellulose enhances the digestive function, as under the influence of water it transforms into a sticky gel form, which facilitates the binding of fats and accelerates their metabolism in the body. The soluble cellulose contributes to the lowering of elevated cholesterol levels. This means that the green barley can be used in cases of insomnia, diabetes, heart diseases, hypercholesterolemia, hypertension, overweight or obesity.

Expenditures

Dietary supplements derived from green barley have varying costs that depend not only on the brand of the manufacturer or weight, but also on the form of the preparation. In the case of barley powder, which is used to produce juices, packaging weighing 300 g can have costs ranging from 31 to 200 PLN. Slightly lower in cost are products in the form of capsules or tablets. These are largely based on powder derived from leaves, and their price can start as low as 25 PLN.

Assessments and opinions on young barley in the treatment of type 2 diabetes

Research into the impact of young barley on blood sugar levels was conducted on a group of 40 patients suffering from type 2 diabetes. They were split into 2 equal groups. The first group followed a diet combined with oral anti-diabetic medications, while the second group took insulin. Both groups used younger barley for a minimum of 3 months and a maximum of 6 months. Scientists analyzed blood sugar levels, glycosylated hemoglobin (first group), and glycosylated albumin (second group) through blood tests. The results confirm the effectiveness of using young barley in the case of type 2 diabetes. In the first group, overall blood sugar levels improved in 95% of patients and glycosylated hemoglobin levels improved in all patients. In the second group, an improvement in glycosylated albumin levels was observed in 60% of patients, as well as an improvement in 85% of patients regarding secondary symptoms. These figures demonstrate the benefits of supplementing with green barley.
