When searching for the meaning of the word "supplement", one can come across the following definition: it can refer to almost any area of life and means an addition or expansion. Therefore, dietary supplements can be very generally described as nutritional substances that, due to their composition, can be a valuable reinforcement for our body. However, they should be used in accordance with certain guidelines... In the following text, we will explain what this process should look like in practice.
Perfecting diet – the foundation for development
Regardless of our knowledge in training, type of physical activity, purchased supplements or chosen goal, the foundation is diet. I am not talking about a strict famine or a strict ban on eating after the 18th hour, which has long been referred to as one of the biggest nutritional myths. It's about a properly balanced diet that's going to be tailored to our needs. A well-chosen diet brings many more benefits than the whole range of supplements available on the market. Nutrients from natural sources - conventional and organic food - are often better absorbed and utilized by the body. With varied meals, the body can be provided with the energy needed for functioning, and an even distribution of nutrients throughout the day prevents the feeling of hunger. Remember that diet is the foundation for every athlete. A good diet should be ideally adapted to the training plan, and supplements serve only as a supplement to achieve better results and prevent possible nutrient deficiencies. Initially, it may seem difficult, but once you get used to systematically preparing meals in advance, we will see that it is not difficult and everything depends on us.
