The characteristics of popcorn
Popcorn is created through the fermentation and oxidation of corn kernels, which alters their structure and results in an explosive increase in volume. It primarily consists of carbohydrates and has a low salt and fat content. In 100 grams of pure popcorn, without added oil and salt, there are approximately 370 kcal, 78 g of carbohydrates, 11 g of protein, less than 5 g of fat, and up to 15 g of dietary fiber. The sodium content is very low, not exceeding 10 mg per 100 grams.
