Organic rock formations composed of diatoms, also referred to as diatomite, are organogenic rocks formed through the accumulation of biological residues or the precipitation of chemical compounds that arise during metabolic processes in organisms. Their structure primarily consists of the shells of single-celled algae – diatoms. Under microscopic examination, they appear as diverse, cylindrical, porous formations with numerous openings that facilitate the absorption of smaller particles. Each of these pores carries a strongly negative electrical charge, enabling them to attract chemical substances. As these porous structures pass through the digestive system, they can effectively absorb undigested food residues, toxins, heavy metals, and other harmful substances that accumulate in the body. Additionally, due to their irregular shapes, they can neutralize larger and more dangerous parasites by piercing them with their protruding edges.
