Dieta ograniczająca salicylany (aspirynowa) – podstawowe zasady, wskazania i dozwolone produkty
1 / 1

A low-salycyl diet is recommended

The recommended use of this method is allergy or intolerance to salicylates. The first is when the presence of these substances in the body causes an immune system reaction. Intolerance is the result of a disorder in the metabolism of arachidonic acid and salicylate is the main cause of these disorders. Both diseases have similar symptoms: chronic inflammation of the salivary glands, bronchial asthma, rash on the surface of the skin, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea.

A low-calorie diet is the rule

The main premise of the aspirin diet is to significantly reduce or eliminate salicylates from the diet. The patient who has been diagnosed with intolerance or allergy to this compound should maintain their intake at such a level that there are no side effects. There is no predetermined dose that the patient can safely take.

Salicylated food

The richest source of salicylates is herbs and spices, but this is not the end of the list of products containing them: fruits and fruit juices, vegetables and vegetable juices and soups, coffee and tea, alcohols (other than vodka), honey, nuts.

Salicylated medicines

Acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin) is the main ingredient in non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, so when choosing painkillers or antifungal medicines, it is important to make sure that they do not contain it. A substance with a similar medicinal effect to aspirin is paracetamol, so it will be a good substitute for this compound.

Salicylated cosmetics

A much more difficult issue is the elimination of salicylates from cosmetics and care products, as they are found in most pharmaceutical products. In this case, the most proven method is to read labels accurately and avoid substances such as parabens, benzoes, menthol, salicylic acid and any salicylate, BHA.

Dietary aspirin Permitted and prohibited products

The highest content of salicylates in food are: fruits (apples, peas, vinegar, raisins, grapefruit, blueberries, peaches, strawberries, rasps, fresh and dried lettuce, raspberries), vegetables (broccoli, chicory, tomatoes, spinach, cornstarch, olives), most soybeans, alcohol (especially beer and wine), beverages (coffee, herbaceous grapes, a lot of meat, coca-cola), herbs and condiments (fruits, curry, cinnamon, almonds, mustard flour, bananas, chickpeas, mustards, vegetables, fruits and vegetables), most soya beans (particularly milk and soybean beans), most spinaches, and olives, most of them all).
