The condition known as gestational hypertension is identified when three separate blood pressure readings indicate a systolic value of at least 140 millimeters of mercury and/or a diastolic value of at least 90 millimeters of mercury. Contemporary epidemiological estimates suggest that this disorder affects between five and ten percent of all pregnant individuals, thereby representing one of the leading risk factors for severe pregnancy-related complications—including those that may threaten the life of the mother or the developing fetus.

High blood pressure in pregnancy

Hypertension is dangerous to the health of the mother and the developing fetus. Several forms of hypertension occur during pregnancy: chronic hypertension, which a woman has had before pregnancy or was diagnosed before the 20th week of pregnancy, which persists for at least 42 days after pregnancy, pregnancy-induced hypertension that developed after the 20st week of gestation, hypertension with or without protein (high blood pressure when the kidneys filter the blood and the lungs, which results in insufficient protein after pregnancy), hypertension caused by pregnancy which developed after 20 weeks of pregnancy.

How to treat hypertension?

The only medicinal product that can be used safely throughout pregnancy is methyldopa, which has been established on the basis of years of research and observation. For high blood pressure during pregnancy with a mild course, pharmacological treatment may not be necessary if the pregnant woman is under the supervision of a specialist. A pregnant woman may also make some changes to her diet and lifestyle, which may also have a beneficial effect on sea salt processing.

Herbs for high blood pressure

An additional health support for the pregnant woman, which will not adversely affect her and the developing fetus at the same time, will be herbal teas, the preparation of herbs recommended for high blood pressure and allowed to be consumed during the blessed period. The herb's role is urological activity, which contributes to a reduction in the amount of body fluids and thus to a decrease in blood pressure. Herbal herbs are: medicinal herbs, diarrhea, coughing, liposuction.
