Recently, a variety of weight-loss programs with diverse approaches have emerged. Alongside expert health recommendations, there are also commercial offerings promoted by celebrities. Many well-known diets rely on reduced carbohydrate intake, and the South Beach nutrition plan follows this principle as well.

The South Beach Diet

The South Beach diet, whose author Arthur Agatston holds a doctorate degree, has gained great popularity in many regions of the world and is also well known in Poland. This program is associated as a somewhat less restrictive form of the Atkins ketogenic diet and, unlike it, is divided into stages. The first of these lasts 2 weeks slightly extreme presupposes the exclusion of all products that are a source of carbohydrates. The diet is then composed of about 10% carbon, 60% fat and 30% protein.

The South Beach Diet is effective

The most spectacular effects of the South Beach diet are observed in the first 2 weeks. It is during the first stage that the greatest weight loss occurs. The body's glycogen stores are reduced, and with it water. Sylvetka becomes visually thinner, but it should be remembered that this is a temporary effect, as the return of carbohydrates to the diet is always pushed back to baseline. This stage can have a positive effect in the form of the body adapting to a lower-carb diet and the need to eat less calories.

The South Beach Diet is on the menu

Below is an example of the basics of the first stage of the South beach diet. The diet consists of 65% fats, 30% protein and 5% carbohydrates, providing a supply of about 2 thousand calories. Breakfast egg in a jar with a tomato additive. Ingredients: 30g pork sausage, a jar without bone 180g chicken whole 200g Pomidor.

South beach diet reviews

If the South Beach Diet is not implemented under the supervision of a dietitian or a doctor, it can do more harm than good. Improperly adjusting the amount of specific nutrients to the body's current needs can result in poor adaptation and intense side effects. The South Beach diet is receiving positive reviews mainly due to the clear loss of weight in the first stage and high satiety of the diet, however, keep in mind that this is a fairly misleading effect associated with the adaptations of the body that can be quickly reversed.
