The impact of smoking on weight loss
In recent years, there has been a noticeable increase in the number of young people experimenting with smoking. Research indicates that initial exposure to smoking at a young age doubles the likelihood of developing an addiction later in life. Parents often downplay the severity of smoking, considering it less harmful than, for instance, alcohol consumption. Meanwhile, 90% of students report no difficulty in purchasing cigarettes. But what drives teenagers to take up smoking? Undoubtedly, the media plays a significant role, associating smoking with rebellion and independence. In the minds of young people, an image of a smoker emerges as a free-spirited, intelligent, and cunning individual who defies societal norms and forges their own path, in contrast to passive, often unremarkable characters without addictive behaviors. Such portrayals resonate particularly with young individuals seeking their identity, rebelling against traditional values, and being more inclined toward risky behaviors due to hormonal changes.
